What you’ll need to get started

  • You’ll need the new details for whatever you’re changing; for example, the client’s new address or contact details.
  • When changing the client’s bank account details, you’ll need the sort code, account number, bank name and account name.

Managing a client’s details: Step-by-step

1. Search for the relevant client. You can do this from the homepage.

2. Click on the ‘Manage details’ quick link button and select ‘Edit client’.

3. This page has two tabs at the top – ‘Client details’ and ‘Banking details’. On the ‘Client details’ tab click on the ‘Edit’ button next to any of the sections to add and update information.

  • The only information which cannot be updated online is your client’s name and date of birth. For these, you will need to send us proof of identification.

4. Click on the 'Banking details' tab and the client’s bank details will be displayed along with a list of products the bank account is available for. To add another bank account click on the ‘Add another bank account’ button and enter the details, then click ‘Continue’.

  • When adding a new bank account for a client we will attempt to automatically verify the account so that it can be used for withdrawals. If we are unable to verify the account we will let you know by asking you to supply additional information before withdrawals can be made.
  • If we are unable to automatically verify the account, you will need to send us proof of the client’s bank account by sending us a certified bank statement or voided cheque. This can be sent to us via Prompt using the selections below:

    Investment, Bond or Pension (depending on the clients account type) > Bank Verification Details

    Upon sending the instruction via Prompt, please state in the email that you have either met with or spoken to the client to avoid any delays.
