What you’ll need to get started

  • Access to the Quilter X-Hub/Discretionary Investment Manager (DIM) portal.

Switching and rebalancing portfolios on X-hub: Step-by-step

1. From the homepage, click on the ‘Model Portfolios’ tab.

2. Search for and select the model portfolio you wish to rebalance or switch.

3. If you want to switch assets select the relevant model and click on the ‘Asset Switch’ option. This allows you to amend a choice of funds, without rebalancing the entire portfolio.

4. Make the relevant amendments to your fund(s) by removing them and replacing them as required.

  • To add a new fund either use the fund upload feature or search for the chosen fund.

5. Once you have completed the switch of funds, click ‘Next’.

6. The next stage allows you to choose which accounts to include or exclude. Choose any clients or accounts you wish to exclude (if any) and click on ‘Next’.

7. The final step allows you to review the data before submitting the changes, ready for the amendments to be applied to the accounts on Quilter's investment platform.

8. To rebalance model portfolios go to the ‘Model Portfolios’ tab, search for and select the model portfolio you wish to rebalance and click on ‘Rebalance’ next to the chosen model.

  • Details of any accounts where there is a restriction to the rebalance taking place will be displayed.
  • A rebalance with no amendments to the funds will simply rebalance the plans linked to the allocation and asset range in place in the model.

9. Click ‘Next’ to review and submit. When you click ‘Submit’ the rebalance will be sent through to Quilter's investment platform to carry out the trades.

What is the X-Hub?

The X-Hub is the portal for advisers with discretionary permissions or discretionary investment managers (DIMs). Using X-Hub, discretionary investment managers can run their model portfolios and publish them for advisers with whom an agreement is in place, so that the adviser can invest on behalf of their clients.
