I previously took part in the Skilled Person Review of pension transfer advice given by Lighthouse to former members of the British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS). Can I take part in the FCA’s consumer redress scheme?

According to the rules introduced by the FCA in relation to its consumer redress scheme, you are not able to participate in the redress scheme if you received a letter from Grant Thornton (a consultancy firm, which is independent of Quilter) telling you whether the advice you received from Lighthouse about your transfer from the BSPS was suitable or not. If you fall within this category of customers, we are not proposing to write to you to confirm that this is the case.

The same applies even if you have received this letter from Grant Thornton but decided to refer the decision, or any offer of compensation made to you by Grant Thornton on Lighthouse’s behalf, to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

If you have a question about the FCA’s consumer redress scheme (including why you are not able to participate in it if you fall within the category of customers described above), please email customerenquiries@quilter.com.
