When your client invests in an exchange traded fund, commodity or investment trust, you pay a dealing charge, this is because these assets are traded on an exchange, which requires the services of a stockbroker. To cover the cost of these stockbroking services, a dealing charge will be paid when buying or selling these asset types.
We partner with an experienced stockbroker, to provide a competitive and straightforward service with a dealing charge based on how the trade is instructed:
-
- Trades inside a model portfolio
– £1 per asset being bought or sold - Trades outside of a model portfolio
– £3.50 for trades valued at less than £10,000
– 0.035% for trades valued at more than £10,000
– £15 cap per asset trade
- Trades inside a model portfolio
Please note, stamp duty* and a PTM levy** apply when trading investment trusts.
If your clients continue to invest in our standard range of funds (including over 2,600 OEICs and unit trusts) then they will not pay this charge.
*Stamp duty - HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) charges stamp duty of 0.5% on purchases.
**PTM levy - £1.50 applies to each investment trust trade valued over £10,000.
